W.A.L.T.

  1. Use well known words and phrases at the beginning of sentences to link previous ideas.
  2. Join two or three ideas with interesting connective words and phrases.
  3. Don’t forget to start sentences with a capital letter and finish with . ! or ?

For example

  1. The doorbell rang just as Jemima fell down the stairs.
  2. As we came into school it was raining hard.  As a result, a huge puddle formed in the playground and we couldn’t go out to play.

Hannah and Cameron:

It’s good to say nice things about your friends.  For example, “would you like to playwith me  because you look sad?’’

If I hadn’t put my socks in the wash then they would have stunk like rotten cheese.

If I go to Castle Park then I would investigate things that the Romans had.

I went to town. Next I went to the cinema.

I went outside although it was hot.

I have an annoying sister although I have a nice brother.

I don’t like Tag Ruby because it’s too rough for me.

Henry and Lewis:

I went to reasoning but I  could not find my book.

I was very sick. Therefore, I could not go to school.

SHORT CIRCUIT - A SCIENCE EXPERIMENT

A short circuit is when  the two crocodile clips touch and it makes a bridge, so the electricity goes back and forwards, instead of going through the wires to the light bulb.

by Hannah

A short circuit is where a crocodile clip is touching another crocodile clip.  The circuit will not work, because it goes round in a little circle.  This what we call a short circuit.

AUTUMN LEAVES

by Rachele

Autumn leaves are orange.

I need to write a poem.

I've done it for this season,

And I've done it for a reason.

I love to watch the red leaves.

I love to feel the brown-green trees.

There's nothing better,

To see them settle,

From the trees to the ground:

Red, orange and brown.

My Favourite Poem

by Electra:

There was an old man from Peru,

Who dreamt he was eating his shoe.

He woke in a fright,

In the middle of the night,

And found it was perfectly true!
