Children's Work: Year 4
THE WHALE
by Miles
The whale is as big as an elephant, as shiny as a diamond.
The whale is as peaceful as the moon.
The whale is as smooth as a ruby.
The whale is as blue as the gentle sky.
The whale is as magical as a magician.
It is like the whale is bouncing on a trampoline.
It squirts water like a water pistol.
It takes a massive gulp of water and sand, and then lets it go!
But, it swallows krill and plankton like someone gulping a whole glass of water.
THE WHALE
by William
The whale is as bold as a knight going to war.
The whale is as massive as Mount Everest, plus T-Rex!
The whale is as grey as smoke and rain clouds.
The whale has teeth like wooden pylons.
The whale is as slow as a sea turtle on land.
Its mouth is as big as twenty football pitches.
The whale moves like waves on the East Coast.
POETRY
by Gracie
HAIKU:
There's a lovely sun
Look at the beautiful sky
It's time for some fun.
CINQUAIN:
Springtime
better weather
wonderful flowers grow
bumblebees and wasps love flowers
it's Spring.
ACROSTIC:
Spring is great fun.
People love Spring.
Random flowers grow.
It's time for some ice-cream.
No-one hates Spring.
Gorgeous flowers grow.
"Your poems are brilliant. Please show Mr Middleditch for the website!" said Mrs Paternoster.
WILD ANIMALS
by Brandon
Wild animals living happily,
In the wild world.
Living the dream of anyone;
Diving in the water with joy.
Animals having baby cubs,
Nothing in their way.
In the sun.
Making the most of their time.
Animals growing fast,
Living a dream.
Sun comes out.
"This deserves to go on the website," said Mrs Paternoster.

CHRISTMAS DECORATIONS by Class 4
Sparkly tinsel shines beautifully,
Spiky tree shivers gently,
Sharp holly hangs dangerously,
Silky ribbons wrap tightly,
Silver star shimmers softly.
Excellent work! said Mrs Chambers.
HOW TO SOLVE MULTIPLICATION USING A GRID
by Casey
What is a Grid Method?
A grid method is an easy way of solving hard timestables. Of you use your fingers you will get lost. Example: 63 x 5 = ?
How do you draw it?
First of all we put three lines going vertical (going down). About two centimetres away from the top draw a line going horizontal (going across). In the corner please put an x. Secondly, in the box, next to the x, put 60. Next to 60 put 3. After that do 60 x 5 and 3 x 5.
TRAVELLING TO DIFFERENT WORLDS
by Frank
My characters travel to a different world by a time machine, in a door that's never been opened before, by a key which is in the haunted house. There are instructions how to use it
Dear reader, these instructions are top secret! They are for a time machine!
Press a red and blue button at the same time as the green and yellow, then say the year, month and day, and you will go there!
Great work, Frank!
